Last year, Ronda Rousey made a much-awaited comeback to the WWE during the Royal Rumble premium live event to make an entry to the Women’s Royal Rumble match after a nearly three-year absence. WWE put her right back into the top spot by letting her win that Royal Rumble match. Moving on, she went on to win not one but two championships after that mega return.

However, it was mainly due to the lack of relevant opponents that made her reigns look weak. Lack of in-ring skills also led to negative reactions from the audience. At this point, Ronda Rousey sustained an injury during Smackdown last week, which threw curveballs to WWE’s WrestleMania plans. It now appears that chances are low that her hands will be fully recovered in time for the Show of Shows.

A title match opportunity may still be planned for Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 39

However, the current injury may hinder plans for her at the Show of Shows. As previously reported, Ronda Rousey is currently dealing with an arm injury. In fact, she was even seen sporting a sling during last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, as she stood by ringside for Shayna Baszler’s singles contest against Tegan Nox that ended in a victory for Baszler.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE’s plans for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Meltzer informed that despite WWE keeping her out of action, she isn’t likely to be 100% healed in time for WrestleMania 39,

“It’s gonna be Lita and Becky Lynch. But, Rousey and Baszler are still getting the tag team title shot as has been planned all along and likely winning them. Unless, Rousey’s injury doesn’t heal. Which they are, right now, of the impression that she’s not gonna be 100% healed but the impression is that she would be ready to do the match.” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)

WWE has announced a six-woman tag team match, pitting Lita, Trish Stratus, and Becky Lynch against DAMAGE CTRL for WrestleMania 39 but as it stands the company may still have some plans to let Ronda Rousey compete in a title match against the women’s tag team champions Lita and Becky Lynch.
