Ronda Rousey expectedly lost her match at Summerslam against Shayna Baszler to be on her way out of the WWE. But of the latter’s previous statements are any indications that it wasn’t the very last of the UFC Hall of Famer we’ve seen in the WWE and the company’s internal activities also suggest the same.

Previous reports from Ringside News suggested that Ronda Rousey was saying “farewell for now” from the WWE which meant that she could be back for more big matches in the future. However, it’s also been noted by the source that the goodbye is likely to last a long time.

Heading into the 2023 summer, Ronda Rousey gave the WWE a “hard out” date, and it appears that SummerSlam was that date. This was the reason that the company had to hurriedly conduct the feud between her and Shayna Baszler. In an update, PWInsider reports that despite her hiatus from WWE, The Baddest Woman on the Planet was still listed on the company’s internal roster this week for Raw,

“Ronda Rousey, as of now at least, still remains listed on the WWE’s internal roster.”

WWE scrapped plans for Ronda Rousey due to current absence

Following Raw, Ringside News further reached out to confirm that Ronda Rousey is done with the WWE and they were told by a tenured member of the creative team that there are no plans for her. Also, the team was instructed to scrap all the plans for the former champion for the time being,

“We were told Ronda is not available moving forward. That probably means she’s finished for now as a performer in WWE.”

Earlier this year, Ronda Rousey returned to the WWE to win the 2022 Royal Rumble event after an almost three-year hiatus to begin her second stint with the company. She won the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice since her return but the fans turned on her due to lack of connection with the former UFC star.

WWE tried hard to make the fans care about her by turning her heel but things were too late by then. If truth be told, Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler was the quiet-most match of the Summerslam card for all the right reasons as there was no spark of wrestling in an MMA Rules Match inside the squared circle.
