WWE hosted its biggest event of the year, this past weekend, and Ronda Rousey was part of the festivities. After all the speculations and negativities around the top WWE female superstar, she not only competed in a match but also ended up being the winner in her scheduled match which should not put her into a title match encounter.

Ronda Rousey’s match placement on the card was interesting as for the very first time she wasn’t seen in a top singles title match. There is a reason that WWE had placed her in a fatal-4-way tag team match alongside Shayna Baszler and three other teams but not in a Raw or Smackdown Women’s Title Match. It appears that the UFC Hall of Famer was simply not ready for competition.

Ronda Rousey Wasn’t Fully Medically Ready To Compete In WWE Wrestlemania 39 Match 1

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on Ronda Rousey’s current status and involvement in that WrestleMania 39 tag team encounter. It was seemingly noticed that the creative pans were accordingly made to protect her because she wasn’t fully ready to be in competition at such a grand stage,

“She very clearly was not ready to be there, it was very obvious.” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)

Ronda Rousey stayed out of action on the Road to Wrestlemania 39

As seen in the match, Ronda Rousey got involved in only a couple of spots during that entire WrestleMania match. Mostly Shayna Baszler suffered the bullets for her to lead her team to the winning spot. But being the marquee superstar, it was her tag team partner who got the winning submission spot in the match despite staying out of action as much as possible.

Heading into Wrestlemania 39, the original plan called for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. WWE actually wanted to pit these two superstars against the team of Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Lita but it was Rousey’s injury that scrapped the match after which WWE had to go a totally different direction.

For over a month, Ronda Rousey stayed out of fatal action after reaggravating a former elbow injury which should help her to heal up faster. The plan of the scrapped Wrestlemania match is still onboard and that’s the reason why the Wrestlemania Showcase winning team indicated to go after the tag titles held by Lynch and Lita. For the time being, the champions will defend against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
