Overall 19 names have been announced for the Royal Rumble 2022 edition Women’s Rumble match over on last night’s Smackdown. The Universal Title match was also indicated during the bygone episode while two more male superstars have been confirmed for the 30-Man Rumble Match on the show.
This week’s SmackDown on FOX featured a backstage segment with Sami Zayn and Jackass movie-star Johnny Knoxville. Zayn insulted Knoxville and said he didn’t have the skills of what it takes to compete in the ring and let alone in the Royal Rumble 2022 matchup. Zayn then challenged him to show up if he had the guts.
Zayn then lost a singles contest to Rick Boogs, thanks to the interferences by Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Afterward, he was tossed from the ring after Knoxville came at him from behind. The commentators then mentioned how Knoxville is now confirmed to appear at Royal Rumble 2022.
Originally, Knoxville took to Instagram this past weekend and announced that he wanted to win the Men’s Royal Rumble 2022 match which is also his new year resolution for 2022. He also said that he’s not impressed with the current WWE roster, specifically with former WWE Champion Big E and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Former WWE Champion and Royal Rumble 2012 winner Sheamus also announced his spot for the Men’s Rumble match during SmackDown. Seven spots were confirmed for the 30-Man Rumble – Knoxville, Sheamus, Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins with 23 names to be announced.
