Royal Rumble 2023 is scheduled to take place on January 28, and it’s hard to predict who will show up at the event. This is one night of the year where uncertainty remains at its peak mainly due to the Rumble matches where current and former superstars duke it out for an opportunity to headline Wrestlemania. It turns out that fans might just see a former WWE familiar face in the melee.
Kairi Sane used to be one of the best female athletes on the WWE roster when she was with the company. She had a successful tenure in NXT where she managed to capture the top title of the brand, namely the NXT Women’s Championship. This came after her win at the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament. Now she might come to the news after coming back to the WWE at Royal Rumble 2023.

Kairi Sane may return to WWE TV at Royal Rumble 2023
It should be noted that Kairi left WWE and returned to Japan, a long time ago. But recently an interesting rumor is going around regarding her making her way back to WWE TV. During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that there was talk for the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion to be one of the surprise entrants of Royal Rumble 2023,
“An interesting part of that story is that it had been rumored Kairi would be in this year’s Royal Rumble, but those rumors were prior to the decision changing with her getting the IWGP women’s title, which could change the dynamic.”

Kairi Sane could be a replacement for Sasha Banks’ travel to Japan
On that note, it should be mentioned that Sasha Banks is also reportedly traveling to Japan and the rumor now is that a prominent Japanese talent may be traveling back to the WWE for the Royal Rumble 2023. While Banks is scheduled to appear at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023, Sane is speculated the one to make an appearance at the inaugural WWE PLE of the year.
Under the Pirate Princess gimmick, Kairi Sane joined WWE in March 2017 and spent three years in the company. Apart from winning the tag titles, she had also picked up wins against the likes of like Bianca Belair, Dakota Kai, Toni Storm, and Shayna Baszler. Now, she perhaps got to mix it up with some more talents at Royal Rumble 2023.
