WWE will return to San Antonio, Texas, for the Royal Rumble 2023 premium live event set for later this month. The Road to Wrestlemania 39 will be kicked off with this show and WWE previously announced a big match for the January 28 PLE during SmackDown last Friday Night.
WWE announced that Bray Wyatt and LA Knight will be competing in a Pitch Black Match at Royal Rumble 2023. It’s yet to be confirmed whether it will be a cinematic match or a traditional gimmick match inside the squared circle. An entrant to the Men’s Royal Rumble Match will also be declared on tonight’s Smackdown.

While the return of The Rock remains a popular belief among the audience, there’re still some uncertainties around the happening. If WWE can’t secure him for WrestleMania 39, then it’s likely that the Royal Rumble 2023 victory will be given to Cody Rhodes, who will go on to face Reigns for the Undisputed Title in the main event capacity.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Rhodes’ return to WWE won’t be surprising fans Royal Rumble 2023 as he has already started appearances through vignettes in WWE programming,
“I had always figured that Cody Rhodes’ return would be a surprise at the Royal Rumble, but it’s absolutely not going to be, as they’re doing a multi-part series building up his return.”
