Orlando, Florida has become the latest favorite to host Royal Rumble 2024, the potential inaugural WWE premium live event of next year. The host city which falls under WWE’s all-time favorite category, is willing to pay a hefty sum to secure the event which indicates that it’s just a matter of time before WWE will make an official announcement regarding the PLE’s host venue.
According to a report by WESH 2, the Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee will request $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to bid in order to confirm that the Royal Rumble 2024 premium live event goes down from the city. The bid was set to be made on Tuesday, May 2 so that the event could emanate from the Camping World Stadium on January 27, 2024.
Royal Rumble 2024 expected to make a huge impact in Orlando region
It was noted that the Orange County officials in Florida estimate that attendance for the Royal Rumble 2024 PLE could reach 54,000 which will generate an economic impact of around $28 million for that particular region. Hence, they want the bid to be successful. If found otherwise then the funds will be returned. WWE may also hold an NXT special during that weekend in the city although nothing has been confirmed.

Jason Siegel, President and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission told Orlando Business Journal that they’re hopeful about WWE will pick them to be the host of Royal Rumble 2024,
“We have a long history of hosting major marquee WWE events in Orlando, and we are hopeful that our friends at WWE select Orlando to host Royal Rumble in 2024.”
Camping World Stadium is the current host of the NCAA’s Citrus Bowl and Cheez-It Bowl is expected to serve to an estimated capacity of 54,000 fans. This venue already has a history of hosting large WWE events. The stadium had previously hosted not one, but two WrestleManias — WrestleMania XXIV in 2008 and then WrestleMania 33 in 2017.

On both occasions, attendance crossed the 70K mark. WrestleMania 33 generated a reported $181 million for the region and the city reportedly wants to repeat the similar success with Royal Rumble 2024. This year’s Rumble event took place inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, with a reported attendance of 51,338.
