After enjoying a wonderful career in the WWE, Saraya fka Paige had already become a pioneer. The United Kingdom native was thereafter forced to take retirement that kept herself engaged in numerous non-wrestling roles before WWE decided not to renew her contract in the summer of 2022. Eventually, she came to AEW to become a regular feature in their programming.
Unlike most of the former WWE recruits by the AEW, Saraya has no hard feelings about her former employer though. This is the case despite the ongoing rivalry between AEW and WWE that is well documented in recent years. Since Tony Khan started AEW, the company officials as well as the wrestlers threw major shades at the Vince McMahon-owned brand all the time.

There was a time when AEW’s flagship show Dynamite was involved in a Wednesday Night War against NXT and it did force WWE to change NXT it’s time slot from Wednesday to Tuesday nights. However, when it comes to the talents, WWE Superstars aren’t that much concerned about the rival brand Superstars, backstage. The two managements could be adversaries but the WWE talents don’t mind AEW offering them competition.

Saraya reveals WWE Superstars are happy to have an alternate place to wrestle in AEW
Saraya, who is better known as Paige to the WWE Universe, recently spoke to Forbes and informed that WWE wrestlers don’t trash talk about AEW. In fact, the reality is that the talents are happy to have a substitute place to wrestle if and when they get released by WWE,
“When I was backstage in WWE, I didn’t see people talk shit about AEW. People were just happy that there was another place for people to go. When people would get let go in WWE, we’d be so devastated for people. It would be like someone just died or something like that.”
It’s a valid point mentioned by Saraya who is also enjoying an alternative career in the AEW after moving on from the WWE even after the company wanted to re-sign her to a new deal. A better portion of the AEW locker room is anyway filled up with former WWE Superstars which also shows the reality where Tony Khan offered them a second chance to find a good reason about sticking to the wrestling business.
As for Saraya, she debuted in AEW a few months ago during the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam edition. Fans were elated to see the popular wrestler back on TV who also found her way back to action down the road during the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view in November 2022.
