Saraya joining the women’s division of the All Elite Wrestling promotion was a savior amid the consistent criticisms that the company was dealing with regarding the booking. The female side of the company has often been touted to be weaker than the male side while many thought poor booking was the problem as they managed to stack things up on the roster as time progressed.

In general, an episode of AEW Dark or AEW Dark: Elevation may feature a number of female competitors for the YouTube show, the promotion’s flagship show AEW Dynamite on TBS will usually feature only one women’s match per week which is noticeable. Saraya knows the problem and she seems to have a solution to highlight the women superstars more on TV.

Saraya Wants AEW To Introduce Women’s Tag Team Championships 1

The former WWE Superstar believes that the company’s talented performers can showcase their in-ring skills, more if Women’s Tag Team Championships are introduced. They can really fight for a title, after all. AEW has a lot of titles around the company, but they haven’t introduced the Women’s Tag Team Titles yet. Some fans have suggested they should add those belts to the fray and Saraya is the latest to join the conversation.

Saraya commented on bringing AEW tag team titles for the female roster

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is a celebration for all women, Saraya sent out a tweet on AEW’s original tweet to bring up the topic to introduce tag team belts to the AEW women’s roster. She threw out the same idea via her below comments,

“Perfect way to celebrate would be to bring in Women’s tag titles.”

A fan replied by saying that “women barely get one match” on AEW TV, but Saraya backfired by saying that the introduction of these titles could be the solution to that problem. “That would open the door for more matches,” she responded on Twitter to the fan. “We are fortunate enough to have a lot of great women’s wrestlers on our roster that could be used in a tag division.”

Saraya Wants AEW To Introduce Women’s Tag Team Championships 2

This isn’t the first time that Saraya has called for a change in the AEW women’s division. When she first arrived last September, making a full-blown impact was the motivation behind signing with the company after rejecting a deal with the WWE. Shortly after that, she openly suggested new tag belts with the following comments,

“I don’t think we should load wrestling with a ton of championships, but there is space for a women’s tag division, too. There are a lot of women we have backstage that are not on the show, and that could give them an opportunity.”
