Back in 2019, Sasha Banks was the center of rumors in pro-wrestling shortly after Wrestlemania 35 was over. Several media outlets claimed that her relationship with the WWE has deteriorated and she’s immediately requested for her release from the company. Reports also claimed that she wasn’t happy with her position in the company that led to the decision.
It appeared that Sasha Banks was on the verge of moving away from the WWE, breaking the bond of almost seven long years. Since she was one of the top names from the female locker room, the news raised eyebrows among the fans. Ending all the speculations, she did return the night after Summerslam 2019 and turned heel for the first time in four years.

It was a career rejuvenation for the multi-time Women’s Champion who did have all the right reasons to be on a hiatus after the Biggest Event of Them All. During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani Meets, Sasha Banks opened up about the much-talked time-off she had from WWE after WrestleMania 35.
As per Sasha Banks’ words, her passion for wrestling hit the lowest at that point. Being the biggest fangirl of pro-wrestling, she could barely feel something for the Showcase of Immortals which was something unexpected. So a break from WWE was much-needed.
“It was at that WrestleMania when I was just like, ‘Woah, I’m not nervous. I don’t feel anything and this is Wrestle – freaking – Mania. I couldn’t believe it! The biggest fangirl that wanted this her entire life didn’t feel anything at the biggest show ever? I mean, this is every wrestler’s dream to be here, and at the very moment, I knew that I needed to take a break. And I was like, alright, I’ve got to go find myself and I did, and it’s the best decision I ever made and I’m so thankful that I did.”

Sasha Banks was advised of an extended hiatus from WWE
Sasha Banks went ahead to confirm that the reports of her requesting a release from WWE were definitely true. However, Vince McMahon denied that request and suggested she take as much time off as she needed until feeling fully ready for a comeback,
“I’m always that performer wanting to be #1 and I felt in my heart that I just wasn’t feeling good. I wasn’t feeling good, so I felt like I did all that I could and I needed that break, I needed that release. And then Vince told me no and that was a great decision on both ends because he knew what he saw. He’s so smart, he’s so kind, he’s so gentle. He actually knew what I needed which was time. At the end of the point, all of us just need a little bit of time.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Following the comeback, Sasha Banks has frequently asked for time-offs from her WWE schedule as seen in the last couple of years. Despite that, she managed to win both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s championships and establish herself as The Blueprint of the WWE who is one of the cornerstones of the female division.
