In the absence of the likes of Sasha Banks and Naomi, WWE Raw and Smackdown Women’s Division was lacking star power for a long time. But a significant update is now available that suggests that a positive development has been noticed to possibly bring them back to the company. While nothing in specific was revealed in this regard, the speculation is that they’re expected to be back in due course.
Wrestling News recently reported that they were told of an agreement that has been reached between WWE and Sasha Banks and Naomi. This would possibly have some positive effect on their expected return to the company. Apart from this source, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Live podcast also stated that a source confirmed the report to him stating that the former champions could find a way, after all, to make a comeback to WWE TV.
WWE Smackdown: Natalya Stopped By Legendary Harts From Retirement
Bryan stated that his belief is that the report was accurate but he couldn’t definitively confirm it. Around SummerSlam 2022, positive news around Sasha Banks and Naomi’s return started to file in given that Triple H is in charge of the creative things in the company. The duo was also expected for this week’s WWE Raw but we didn’t find any trace of the duo, at all. Hopefully, WWE is planning something big for them in the near future.
Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE during an episode of Raw
Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the May 16 edition of Monday Night Raw for being unhappy about their creative plans on the show. This was despite them enjoying their tenure as the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The duo eventually relinquished their Women’s Tag Team Titles before their departure. This did bring a big void on the roster that’s yet to be filled in. No new tag team champions were also crowned afterward.
Sasha Banks and Naomi didn’t reportedly feel respected enough as a team or as a champion. They also perhaps felt unsafe while working with the specific colleagues in the ring which led to their WWE exit. Afterward, the two women were suspended for their actions while they have also been edited out of WWE contents, and removed from the internal roster. They also changed their social media handles in the wake of the exit.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer mentioned before SummerSlam 2022 as he was speaking on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast that he had been told of WWE attempting to reconcile with the two women for a possible return. At present, Sasha Banks and Naomi are slated to appear at the Chicago And Entertainment Expo Convention (C2E2), this weekend for their public appearance outside WWE since the departure took place.
