Sasha Banks and Naomi opted to walk out of the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw episode and the main event match. A six-pack challenge was set up to crown the new number-one contender for the Raw Women’s Champion featuring both of them. But their sudden departure altered the plans as WWE put Becky Lynch and Asuka in a singles contest.
When Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out on, they potentially did so with limited time left on their WWE contracts. Various reports surfaced on the internet claiming that they were unhappy about their positions in the company. Both of them were reigning tag team champions but the booking perspective of the WWE didn’t make them happy.
Sasha Banks And Naomi Reportedly Coming Back To WWE Under Triple H Leadership
A new report has now claimed that Sasha Banks was also unhappy at Ronda Rousey being given the match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38. At first, the plan was to make the lineup Flair vs. Banks over Smackdown Women’s Title. But Ronda made her return and won the Women’s Royal Rumble match to get the big match at ‘Mania.
As for Sasha Banks, she teamed up with Naomi and won the women’s tag team titles gold in a Fatal-4-Way match on that night. In a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has spoken about how the top superstar could be unhappy over not getting the singles title opportunity against Flair.

Sasha Banks didn’t get a title match against Charlotte a Wrestlemania 38
Meltzer explained that Sasha Banks was “mad” after Ronda was given the WrestleMania 38 match against Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title. That match was originally meant to feature The Legit Boss which was also in the pipeline “for months”.
“Sasha has always had issues, you know she was mad that Ronda got the WrestleMania spot, which you know was planned for Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair, which was planned for months, I wrote about it. She got moved down and they gave her the tag belts as kinda like a concession because she got moved down.” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)
Following their walk-out, Sasha Banks and Naomi have been “suspended indefinitely” and stripped of their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Reports claim that they remain under the WWE contract although all the merchandise around them has been pulled from WWE Shop. If reports are to be believed then their original contracts are also up within a few months.
