After the recent tug of war between WWE and Sasha Banks, the two parties may have finally opted to end the battle. This comes not as a truce but as a career-ending for the latter one at the world’s biggest wrestling promotion.
Going by the reports of Wrestling INC’s Raj Guru, Sasha Banks is no more associated with the WWE as the top Smackdown Superstar has been released by the company. According to the source, it’s unknown whether the top superstar requested his release or if the decision came from the company, itself.
We haven’t heard from Sasha Banks since she had a fallout with the WWE officials in recent times. At this point, she continues to serve a suspension handed by the WWE, and during this hiatus, she also underwent PRK eye surgery earlier this week.
Several images and videos from her surgery surfaced on social media via the hospital that was in charge of the surgery. It was one of her rare public appearances following her WWE suspension where we could also spot her in new hair color. You can click here to get a glimpse of the same.
WWE Raw Draws Record Low Attendance For Latest June 13 Episode?
Sasha Banks staged a walkout from WWE TV with Naomi
As reported earlier. Sasha Banks and Naomi opted to take a walkout from WWE TV during the May 16 episode of Raw which they were supposed to feature in the main event match. They were subsequently handed out indefinite suspensions without pay. According to former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide, Banks’ contract was about to expire within two months.
To date, neither of the superstars has commented on their situation with WWE but Naomi has since removed all the references to WWE from her Twitter bio. WWE has also removed all references to the two superstars from their TV graphic intro, deleted their Facebook pages, and pulled all their merchandise from WWE Shop.
If Sasha Banks has been released by WWE, we expect an official statement from the company in due course given that she was a star attraction for not only the company and fans but also for the WWE sponsors. She leaves the company as a six-time champion who also main-evented Wrestlemania 37 Night One with Bianca Belair over the Smackdown Women’s Title.
