For some unknown reasons, Sasha Banks has gone to have another hiatus in the WWE since Summerslam 2021 PPV event. She hasn’t wrestled since the August 7 WWE Supershow and was then pulled from last month’s PPV event because she wasn’t cleared for action. No specific reason was given on WWE’s part about the absence while the exact reason behind her absence is still unknown.

While Sasha Banks has not been at any shows since Summerslam, she definitely was backstage at this past episode of SmackDown, according to Fightful. The report also noted they weren’t told about any current creative plans for the former challenger for the Smackdown Women’s Title. So for some rightful reasons, she wasn’t used on TV.

Sasha Banks Teases Potential WWE Smackdown Return Date 1

Previously, it was reported that the WWE Superstar is scheduled to return next weekend, which features the Super SmackDown taping from Madison Square Garden in New York City. While she is still being advertised for that mega show, Sasha Banks could be back a week after that episode.

Sasha Banks could be back within two weeks

Sasha Banks tweeted out “12 [glowing star emoji]” along with a video of “The Final Countdown” by Europe. Twelve days from that tweet will mark Friday, September 17, which could be when she’s returning to SmackDown. Meanwhile, speculations also suggested that the WWE Superstar was giving a nod to Daniel Bryan, who used the same song in ROH before he went to WWE. So it could be a hint for Bryan’s AEW debut that went down at All Out PPV 2021.

Sasha Banks Teases Potential WWE Smackdown Return Date 2

As noted, Sasha Banks missed the August 21 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view and was initially replaced by Carmella in the match against Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title. But then Becky Lynch made her surprise return, took out Carmella, and went on to defeat Belair for the title in just 26 seconds.

It was reported earlier that week that there was internal concern in the WWE over Sasha Banks vs. Belair not happening after the two missed live events in Carolina due to “unforeseen circumstances.” That rumors eventually proved to be true as the much-anticipated Wrestlemania 37 rematch was scrapped out. It might eventually happen but no timeslot is available, for now.
