Before we continue to the story, we need to clarify what this “X-Pac Heat” thing is. It is the ultimate heat that a wrestler can gain. No heat could be bigger than the X-Pac heat.

Sean Waltman Speaks On The “X-Pac Heat”

A question always gets raised how the most extreme heat got named after Sean Waltman. There is no confirmed answer behind it. But it is true that Waltman gained a lot of heat during his time of wrestling.

He started his WWE career as the 123 Kid. In spite of being a babyface he was a never been loved very much by the fans. After he went to the World Championship Wrestling he changed his ring name to Syxx. He was a very hated heel in that time. When he came back to the WWE, she was repackaged as X-Pac and here is where all the story began.

X Pac debuted as a babyface but soon he turned heel and he has been hated so much by the fans. The hatred was purely from his gimmick and it was so over that people started to hate the man behind the character as well. This is from where we got the term X Pac heat. Even though, it is still not clear why only X Pac got entitled into this.

Recently Sean Waltman spoke to Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps show where he gave his view on the X-Pac Heat. He said;

“I didn’t get it. I didn’t get it at the time. Man, ‘X-Pac sucks.’ When you hear that chant, man it doesn’t sound any different than, ‘Eddie sucks’ or, ‘You suck’ to Kurt [Angle]. I mean it was like… like ‘go away’ heat is like you don’t even make any noise, you know? When the person’s out there and I was getting the ideal reaction a heel would get.

“It wasn’t like they were sitting on their hands and birds were chirping. The place was loud, they wanted to see me get my ass beat. So, I always went, ‘Oh that’s bullsh*t,’ you know? There’s no such thing. But there were actually people who felt that way obviously. Like looking back, that’s fine, that’s fine.

“Certain people felt — I can’t begrudge. I can’t begrudge people for how they feel about something, and maybe I was stale. Maybe I could’ve changed things up a little bit more, things like that so, there’s a lot of different ways to look at things and it’s not just, ‘Hey, you were wrong.’ It’s not like — I also gotta look in the mirror too, you know?”
