Shane McMahon is absent from WWE programming for a long time and chances are less that he will show up, anytime soon. Despite his absence, it’s safe to say that his involvements with the company are intact and this is the reason that he was paid last year.
According to a report filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 11, Shane McMahon “received an aggregate of approximately $828,000 in connection with” being kept on by the company as an “independent contractor performer” throughout 2022. Comparing his salary over the last two years, he earned slightly more in 2020 ($820,369), but less than he did in 2021 ($1,313,823).

Shane McMahon returned to the WWE in 2016 to a standing ovation from the crowd. Shane McMahon was brought back to WWE in 2016
The officials felt it badly too after the subscription to the WWE Network reduced a lot which is why Shane McMahon’s comeback will always be remembered as on one of the most path-altering moments in the history of this company. Going forward, a tug of war was seen between him and his sibling, Stephanie McMahon on TV.
This resulted in the brand split, going forward and giving birth to Smackdown Live in 2016. Shane McMahon had become the commissioner of the show since Vince McMahon made him so while Stephanie was appointed as the commissioner of Raw. This started the speculation that the prodigal son of the WWE might be given a certain amount of power backstage, which wasn’t the case.
The initial thought was that he might be acting as one of the creative heads for the Smackdown brand. It is just the similar kind of role that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had done for the flagship show in the past but Shane McMahon is reportedly gone from the WWE after the Royal Rumble 2022 debacle and he isn’t coming back, anytime soon.
