The landscape of WWE RAW and SmackDown changed big-time during the Draft 2020 edition that went down in the second week of October. Several superstars switched their existing brands to shake things up. Now the equation between the babyface and heel superstars will also change on the red and blue brands, as per the recent reports.
As seen on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE decided to split up The New Day as a team as part of the WWE Draft. They made Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods the tag team champions only to send them to Monday Night Raw. Big E was retained by the blue brand meaning that he is certain to get some huge push as a singles star from now onwards.

Smackdown: Potential Babyface & Heel Superstars After WWE Draft 2020
According to Dave Meltzer in the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea behind the decision was to get Big E a bonafide star on SmackDown. The creative team will now put efforts to bring him “out of the comedic mode” that he used to play for The New Day. It’s time to make him a more serious competitor and give him singles push in the process.

Meltzer noted that talks were already there on the SmackDown brand, for pushing Big E as a singles star, leading up to the WWE Draft. The New Day was initially listed as one team that could have been picked by only one brand but that edict wasn’t followed. This is also not the first time, for sure that WWE has broken up tag teams during the draft while intending to push individual stars.
The Observer also stated that Big E, Daniel Bryan, and Jey Uso are expected to be the main singles babyface stars on the SmackDown brand, going forward. On the flip side, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Lars Sullivan, and King Corbin will be the biggest heels from this side. From time to time, we can these individuals getting involved in upcoming feuds.
Otis can also be considered as a top babyface on SmackDown as he’s a future world champion if not WWE wants to waste his Money in the Bank briefcase contract. Meanwhile, reports also claimed that Kevin Owens will be pushed as singles babyface star on SmackDown after getting drafted from the Raw brand. Rey Mysterio is also considered in the same zone although he’s performing in a limited capacity.
