Australian professional wrestler and current WWE SmackDown star Tenille Dashwood who is famously known as Emma in WWE recently talked about her recent return to WWE and joining the blue brand of the promotion.
Tenille Dashwood aka Emma started training for professional wrestling at the age of 13 only. She worked on various independent circuit promotions in various countries before getting the biggest call of her life back in 2011 when she got to sign a professional contract with WWE.
Emma Discusses Her Return To WWE
Upon joining WWE she worked on the Florida Championship Wrestling which was the development territory of WWE back then. In 2012 WWE shifted their development territory to the NXT and the Australian professional wrestler started working on the NXT. She became quite famous on the NXT and she worked on the development territory of WWE for till 2014.
In 2014 she was promoted to the main roster and she carried her fame to the main roasted as well. One of the biggest reasons behind her success was her Emmalution theme. In 2015 she returned to the NXT once again and she spent one more year in the NXT. After one long year in the NXT she returned to the main roster in 2016.
WWE tried to give her a new gimmick called Emmalina during this time. They kept on teasing the promos of her gimmick change for months. But the gimmick would not even have stood for one night. It was a massive failure and it is considered as one of the biggest failed ideas in WWE history. In 2017 she was released from WWE.
After her release from WWE she started working on the independent circuit of America. She also joined Impact wrestling where she won the Impact Knockouts World Tag Teams Championship two times. Recently she has made her return to WWE but unfortunately, it looks like she is nothing but a job this time in WWE. But her recent storyline with Madcap Moss is getting lots of love from the fans.
Tenille Dashwood who is famously known as Emma in WWE recently spoke to Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast where she talked about her recent return to WWE and joining the blue brand of the promotion. She said;
“I guess it would have been within a few months of when Triple H returned. I was working with IMPACT and my contract was coming up. Maybe, without even realizing it, I had this idea in my mind that maybe I’m done with IMPACT and maybe there are other options that I should explore and see what’s possible.
“That was probably coming from me watching WWE and seeing all these awesome changes with Triple H and what he was doing, and I know I had that good rapport with him and all the stuff we did at NXT. Probably, in the back of my mind, I started thinking like, ‘I wonder if I could actually go back to WWE.’ It was within a short time after that, probably a month or two, we ended up in touch.
“He said to me that he had been meaning to reach out even sooner, that I had been on his list, and he’s just been swamped, as you could imagine. That’s kind of where the conversation finally kicked off and then went from there. Next thing you know, I’m actually back. I joked about it so many times, all of a sudden it was like, ‘This is actually happening, I’m coming back to WWE after five years.’”
