The cornerstone figure of Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre isn’t going through good times for the past few months. He hasn’t been able to claim back the WWE Championship from Bobby Lashley despite receiving multiple opportunities. Going into Hell in a Cell 2021, the stipulation was that if he loses then he won’t get another WWE Title match against Lashley.
Drew McIntyre suffered a clean pinfall loss at the hands of Bobby Lashley, marking the second consecutive loss inside Hell in a Cell. Effective immediately, he was taken away from the title picture on Raw. Then Riddle also pinned him on Raw without any outside interferences, continuing his losing spree. However, he will receive another shot by entering the Money in the Bank match set for July 18.
Roman Reigns Wants To Pass The Torch In WWE To Drew McIntyre?
Many might think that this marks the downfall of Drew McIntyre on the roster after his remarkable rise since the beginning of 2020. But that may not be the case as his career could receive a boost in the fall of 2021.
Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre mega feud coming up?
A report from WWFOldSchool claims that there have been talks of moving The Scottish Warrior to SmackDown during the Draft, which is scheduled to take place after SummerSlam 2021. This move leads to a program between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre for the Universal Championship, down the line.
These two top superstars faced each other at Survivor Series 2020 in a Champion vs. Champion match where heel Reigns picked up the win keeping his winning streak intact. It was later hinted by Drew McIntyre that the feud between these two is definitely not over as they could meet to settle the scores.
As of now, WWE Draft Night 1 will take place on the August 30th edition of RAW (from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and Night 2 will take place on the September 3rd edition of SmackDown (from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida).
Last year, the WWE Draft took place in October while the Superstar Shakeup was scrapped. In 2019, both these processes were reserved. WWE is yet to officially announce the Draft as they prepare for Summerslam 2021. But it appears that a major boost to Drew McIntyre’s career will be reserved around this coming Draft.
