Heading into Wrestlemania 39 from Hollywood, the belief was that Roman Reigns was going to finally drop the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He was going up against the top babyface superstar of the Raw roster, Cody Rhodes on that night but the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble winner was unable to dethrone him from the championship reign. If the current reports are any indication then he’s not going to lose it either in around a year.
WWE has no plans to take away Roman Reigns’ titles
Seemingly, WWE has no plans to take the Undisputed Title off the champion, anytime soon. In an update from Xero News, The Bloodline leader is currently slated to remain champion even after WrestleMania 40 in 2024,
“I’m told Roman Reigns will not be losing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship anytime soon. Will hold past WrestleMania 40, 100%.”
Money In The Bank 2023: Trish Stratus Targeting Former Champion At WWE PLE?
This update certainly falls in line as WWE has already introduced a new belt in the World Heavyweight Championship for the Raw brand. It was emphasized to be a workhorse belt which will be a workhorse belt unlike the Undisputed Title held by Reigns which is rarely seen on WWE programming due to his limited schedule.
Main event plans around Wrestlemania 40
Wrestlemania 40 is scheduled to be held at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7, 2024. Nothing more regarding the show has been announced but given the fact that Roman Reigns will still be the undisputed champion, it’s a no-brainer that he will feature in the main event of the show which will be his fourth in a row.
Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship at Payback 2020 PPV event in August of that year and he’s about to complete 1000 days as a champion at the Night of Champions PLE on Saturday, May 27. On that night, The Head of the Table will team up with Solo Sikoa to take on Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
According to a recent report from insider source BoozerRasslin, Roman Reigns is scheduled to work even fewer WWE events in the future. He’s likely moving into Hollywood, much like John Cena to gain more mainstream attention for the WWE. At this point, he’s being advertised to appear in WWE’s Money in the Bank premium live event on July 1 in London, England.
