Since making his comeback to the WWE in the summer of 2020, Roman Reigns has been in his own league. By capturing both the WWE and Universal Championships in the WWE, he’s become the Undisputed Universal Champion in 2022 and no one has been able to dethrone him from that reign. There’s no possible name available to do the same until it comes down to Wrestlemania.
Fans have been wondering whether Roman Reigns would be having a huge match against The Rock at WrestleMania 39. It appears that WWE has already made a decision regarding that match but it’s not likely to be confirmed until Royal Rumble passes by. That will also be the same time that the reigning champion will be competing in a match in 2023.
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has become a special attraction in WWE these days, just like Brock Lesnar used to be in his prime a few years ago. If you want to see Roman Reigns wrestle, then you’ll have to subscribe to Peacock/WWE Network on a premium live event. Or else, he only laces up his boots on Smackdown on special occasions like John Cena’s returning match on December 30.
Roman Reigns Current Favorite To Defeat The Rock In WWE Wrestlemania 39 Main Event
Roman Reigns will wrestle in three matches till Wrestlemania 39
Moving on, Xero News reported that Roman Reigns’ next match will take place at Royal Rumble 2023 and then he’ll have one more match between Rumble and WrestleMania before his mega title defense in the main event of WrestleMania 39.
As per the previous reports, The Tribal Chief is scheduled to face Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2023 for the undisputed title. The Elimination Chamber premium live event is thereafter scheduled from February 18th in Canada and it’s likely that he’ll wrestle there. Another Canadian wrestler Sami Zayn could be his opponent on that night.
Decision taken about Roman Reigns’ Wrestlemania match
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has already made a decision regarding Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 39 match against either The Rock or Cody Rhodes,
“Paul Levesque has made a decision on the Roman Reigns direction for WrestleMania in the event it is not Dwayne Johnson, which is a very real possibility. I don’t know that direction although Cody Rhodes would be the betting line favorite for those on the outside right now. So it’s not like there are multiple ideas for that match, only maybe two, Johnson and whoever the other plan would be with.”
