WWE swerved the fans, big-time when The Miz captured the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber. As per the spoiler alerts, this event was supposed to be a filler before WrestleMania 37 without any title change. But the reality was different as the strongest champion of the Raw roster dropped his belt in a surprising fashion.
The Miz was planning something big as he pulled himself from the Chamber match, first, and then decided to cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase. With a little help from The Hurt Business’ muscle Bobby Lashley, he ended up winning the WWE Championship for the second time in his career en route to making plenty of records.
The unfortunate part is that perhaps The Miz may not be able to capture the title for a long time. He and John Morrison are engaged with Bad Bunny and Damian Priest over on Raw which could turn out to be fatal. A WrestleMania tag tea match is on the way if the reports are to be believed. But the A-Lister will have to drop his belt, first.

WWE to take away the title from The Miz
WWE may not want to complicate things with the WWE Championship involved in the scene. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE is likely to get the title off of The Miz in some way. Bad Bunny could be involved in the situation to plant the seeds of a Mania match.
“Damian Priest and Bad Bunny vs The Miz and John Morrison, that was the match that was originally for WrestleMania and I presume it still will be. I figure Bad Bunny and Damian Priest will be involved in — you don’t want them to be the reason he loses the title — especially if it’s to McIntyre, but they’ll probably be involved in some form of that to set up the other match, I’m just going to guess, you know it just makes sense to do it that way, but yeah, it’s kinda tricky.” (Quotes courtesy Ringside News)
WrestleVotes also supported the idea stating that the current champion won’t be involved in the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 37 but Bobby Lashley would be. So you can’t rule out a title change when the title would be on the line in the main event of next week’s Raw.
In the main event of this week’s RAW, Bobby Lashley defeated Braun Strowman via Spinebuster followed by a Spear. Per the stipulation of the match, Lashley will challenge for the WWE Championship, next week. Lashley attacked Strowman’s leg again and applied the Hurt Lock before spearing the current champion to send a message.
