The Great American Bash is the next WWE NXT specials scheduled for next month and a title defense by Bron Breakker should headline the show. The reigning NXT Champion is currently done with his feud with Joe Gacy now he will probably have to deal with a skyrocketing talent from the roster who could also be turning heel in the future.
According to the reports of PWInsider, the former WWE NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes will challenge NXT Champion Bron Breakker at The Great American Bash specials scheduled for July 5th. Unlike the last couple of years, this year the Bash special episode won’t be a WWE Network Specials but rather a themed weekly episode on NXT 2.0 programming over the USA Network.
Spoilers From WWE NXT 2.0 And NXT Level Up Tapings
The 28-year-old superstar has been on a hot streak, as of late since winning the WWE NXT North American Championship from Carmelo Hayes back in April. He’s since lost the title back to Hayes during the latest bygone In Your House Specials. Prior to that, Grimes had also feuded with LA Knight (now Max Dupri on SmackDown) over the Million Dollar Championship. During that time, he was also associated with “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase in a highly-praised feud.

Challenge issued for WWE NXT Championship
During the bygone tapings, WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker defeated Duke Hudson in a non-title match. Following the match, Cameron Grimes came out and noted how Breakker didn’t have to work as hard since everyone knows who his dad is. On the flip side, no one really knows who Grimes’ father was. The former NXT North American Champ also claimed that there was nepotism going on in NXT. Grimes then challenged Breakker to a match at the Great American Bash on July 5.
The match is yet to be announced but it would most likely be happening during the upcoming episodes of WWE NXT on the USA Network.
For those who don’t know, Grimes is a second-generation wrestler as hiss father, Tracey Caddell was a co-founder of the OMEGA promotion in North Carolina who passed away in 2018.
As for Breakker, he is coming off of a heated feud with Joe Gacy that ended after Breakker successfully defended his WWE NXT Championship and thus got vengeance on Gacy for kidnapping his father, Rick Steiner.
