Last night on Smackdown Rey Mysterio and his teammate Santos Escobar faced each other in the US Championship Invitational final where Rey Mysterio picked up an injury and was forfeited from the match. As a result, Santos Escobar was awarded the victory and he would face Austin Theory for the US title after two weeks on Smackdown.

It was reported that Rey Mysterio picked up a head injury during the match. WRKD Wrestling reported at first that the injury was just a work and it was not legit. However, it was later reported by multiple outlets that the injury was real and the plans of WWE had to change due to it.
Last week’s RAW was a fairly good show with mostly positive feedbacks. However, it was reported by Fightful Select that Triple H was not present on RAW last Monday, there, he did not the show. The site confirmed that the show was run by wrestling legend Bruce Prichard whom we also as Brother Love.
Rey Mysterio Suffered Head Injury Last Night
Reports from Fightful Select suggest that Vince McMahon had a spinal surgery last week. McMahon who is currently 77, is back in the business earlier this year even after announcing his retirement last year. The site reported that it was a “major, life altering operation.”
Kevin Owens is currently dealing with a broken rib and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that he would not be able to compete at Summerslam, therefore, there will be no Tag Team Championship at the Biggest Party of the Summer. There is no confirmation on if the champions have to vacate the titles.
According to reports from BWE, WWE is really optimistic about pushing NXT’s Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams as the top stars. Carmelo Hayes is currently holding NXT Championship and he recently made his main roster in ring debut against the veteran wrestler Finn Balor. Hayes was pretty impressive in this match.
