Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan have been acting as co-CEOs for WWE ever since Vince McMahon stepped away from his position. Not only he did remove himself from the chairman’s position but he also left as the creative head of WWE on both Monday and Friday nights. He sent out an internal memo to communicate his decision just before the 2022 edition of Summerslam.
From the July 22 episode of SmackDown, WWE ushered in a new era in WWE where Stephanie McMahon is the face of the brand as the chairman while her husband Triple H is currently in charge of handling things in the creative team. Stephanie McMahon was not-so-successful as WWE CBO
Prior to becoming the head honcho of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon announced her leave of absence from WWE. According to a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she was blamed for WWE being weak in sales and partnerships,
“This was noted internally as a weakness (this is what the leaked stories months ago buried Stephanie for being weak at), and it was a category where UFC far outdistanced WWE in when both companies otherwise are pretty comparable.”
Probably these allegations contributed to her walk-out from the WWE for an indefinite timespan, earlier this year. A fallout between Stephanie McMahon and other corporate officials was also noted back then but not much detail came out of the situation.
Eventually, Stephanie McMahon could barely enjoy her leave of absence as WWE named her the new CEO of the company within a few weeks. Vince McMahon decided to step away from his position due to the hush-money investigation ongoing against him which claimed that he possibly had silenced a number of female employees harassed at their workplace in WWE.
