Stephanie McMahon acts as a global face on behalf of WWE whenever the company requires her to. As reported earlier, the company is recently dealing with low TV ratings for both Raw and Smackdown. Raw scored the lowest viewership ever while Smackdown drew the second-lowest viewership since moving to FOX in October 2019. Now, WWE is prepping up to pull things back.
WWE needs to figure out how to pull up their viewerships and ratings, in a big way. Stephanie McMahon is apparently getting involved in the process as the company is currently listening to their network partners for suggestions. This is definitely not the first time that the network heads are getting involved in the creative process as they want to keep viewership steady, all the time.
Update On Brock Lesnar’s Return For WWE Summerslam 2021
In the latest, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon is reportedly scheduled to meet with one of WWE’s TV partners by the end of this month, according to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Wrestling Podcast. The meeting is being held so that the network can pitch ideas for newer WWE content.
Stephanie McMahon will be meeting either FOX/USA Network officials
It wasn’t clarified whether Stephanie McMahon will be meeting USA Network officials for Raw or FOX officials from Smackdown. But the discussions will be held regarding more productive content,
“I don’t know which network it was but somebody told me that Steph has a meeting with one of the networks at the end of the month for pitched ideas from the network. I don’t know if this is a common thing that they do or if this is a regular thing but I know that the networks are pitching ideas.”
Networks like FOX and USA/NBC Universal have pitched various ideas over the years, including the introduction of WWE 24/7 Title and RAW Dark, but it appears that the pitches are becoming more common. More on the newer pitches should be available when Stephanie McMahon is done with the meeting.
In recent times, reports have surfaced mentioning that WWE had plans for more specially-themed TV shows over the next several months. Ideas such as King of the Ring and Old School RAW, Raw Roulettes were considered. Both FOX and USA/NBCU were a big part of the push for more themed shows.
