WWE didn’t skip their TV tapings for a single week during the COVID-19 pandemic and the credit goes to the brainchild ideas of Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Vince McMahon, and all the other members of the production team who work tirelessly. Their efforts were indeed noticed as WrestleMania 36 was carried out in its original schedule when the pandemic was at its peak.
They had to move a lot of things around and work through unpredictable situations, but the company did ensure that TV contents don’t get halted for a moment. WWE Network and other broadcast networks continued to produce original content every week. That apparently meant a lot to one of the fans who shared the same to Stephanie McMahon.
Stephanie McMahon Salary: WWE Chief Brand Officer’s Earning Details
WWE sent out a recent press release where they mentioned how the WWE Network has increased 6%, and their YouTube channel saw a 70% increase since the pandemic started. It’s pretty obvious as the fans who were under lockdown for the most part of the year were dependent on WWE content that is Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and pay-per-view programming.
Stephanie McMahon Shares Heart-Touching Story Of WWE Fan’s Mom
Stephanie McMahon added a quote in that release while sharing a story to the WWE fanbase. She remembered a mother who thanked her for WWE staying on the air during those tough times. This happened during a Make-A-Wish drive-thru event in Connecticut.
“It was last Friday night at a WWE-themed holiday “drive thru” community event for Make-A-Wish CT that stands out to me the most. My daughter and I were greeting families in their cars alongside Santa Claus, when a mom sitting in the passenger seat became very emotional. She expressed how hard quarantine has been on her family, how frightening it is for her as her child is high-risk given her medical condition, and how deeply grateful she is that WWE stayed on the air through the pandemic.
She told me, “you have no idea what it means to have an escape that we can rely on, every single week.” She was visibly shaking. Her words reinforced to me what a privilege it is to be a part of a brand that can have that kind of impact.”
It’s a fact that WWE did show some resiliency while continuing those TV tapings, earlier this year and that was criticality acclaimed. Stephanie McMahon previously also mentioned how WWE innovated the concept of ThunderDome and cinematic matches just to offer some varieties in their contents keeping the fans in mind.
WWE stayed on the air mostly for their advertisers and lucrative TV deals. But that won’t be possible if they wouldn’t be getting support from their fans. WWE did try to keep things in normalcy, even though the shows were taped without live fans. Stephanie McMahon did thank the fans for staying by their side during these trying times, previously.
