2022 appeared to be an interesting year for one of the head honchos of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon. In this eventful year, she was firstly accused of poor sales execution of the company and thus got alleged to go into a hiatus. Back in May, she took a leave of absence from WWE which refuted rumors about her future with the company. Some fans believed that she was eventually going to depart.
Reports indicated that she was not on good terms with the WWE management who were questioning her abilities as an executive. It’s to be noted that she was acting as the Chief Brand Officer in the company. Meanwhile, her own statement and other reports claimed that she had to step aside for personal reasons. That happened for just a short period of time as she was brought back to move into the top position of the company.
Stephanie McMahon’s Salary Doubled After Becoming The WWE CEO
Cut to July of 2022, the 45-year-old lady was announced as the new co-CEO of the WWE following the retirement of her father, Vince McMahon. Being a McMahon, she inherited the top position in the company and thereby removed any doubts about whether she held any will to move away from her father’s kingdom in the near future. That being said, it’s safe to say that the wild rumors of departure during her brief hiatus were a colorful story presentation with lesser truth attached to it.
Stephanie McMahon confessed her love for the professional wrestling business
During the latest WWE earnings call, Stephanie McMahon revealed that she took a break to spend more time with her family, echoing the same mentality that she expressed via a tweet in May,
“I have worked my entire life for this business. I love this business. I took a leave of absence realizing that I needed a little bit of time with my family, given the grueling schedule and nature [of WWE]. I got about three weeks, which is more than a lot of other folks get, and I was not forced into returning as the CEO and Chairman in the interim position — I offered.”
Stephanie McMahon also added her future plans with the WWE during the conversation, stating that WWE will continue providing entertainment for fans all around the world and thus catering the global fanatics, no matter what,
“We truly bring people together for generations, from all over the world, with all different backgrounds.”
WWE reported their Second Quarter 2022 Results and the Billion Dollar Princess was in charge of officiating things with the other co-CEO in Tony Khan, Head of Talent Relations, Triple H, and Frank Riddick. For the foreseeable future, this same team will be handling things for the company.
