Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin who is a former six times WWE World Champion recently talked about his signature pose of flipping the bird. He revealed how Vince McMahon did not like this concept at first.
Giving the finger had been one of the most famous signature poses in the history of professional wrestling and it was mostly used and made famous by none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin. Before the era of Austin such poses were not very common. But the Attitude Era changed the world of professional wrestling forever.

Steve Austin Reveals Vince McMahon Did Not Like The Concept Of Flipping The Bird At First
Austin was not only one of the biggest names of the Attitude Era of WWE but he is still one of the biggest attractions of WWE even today. It was really unfortunate that he is career was short lived because of his career threatening neck injury. If he could be active during the Ruthless Aggression Era, the course of WWE could have been completely different.
Not only he was one of the megastars of WWE during his time, his rivalries during the time some of the biggest hits. Two of his feuds are considered as two of the best feuds in the history of professional wrestling. The first feud was against another megastar The Rock with whom he delivered some classic matches including the one from WrestleMania X-Seven.

And the second one was against none other than Vince McMahon. The fluid between McMahon and Austin is considered by many as the best ever feud in professional wrestling history. After WrestleMania XIX, he was forced to take his retirement. However he made his return to action for one last match after 19 years at WrestleMania 38.
Stone Cold Steve Austin who is a former six times WWE World Champion recently spoke to Sportskeeda where he talked about his signature pose of flipping the bird. He revealed how Vince McMahon did not like this concept at first. He said;

“It just turns out that the timing was right when I did it. And they asked me not to do it, but I said, ‘No, I’m gonna do it.’ They wanted me to come up with a whole different hand signal. Vince did, specifically, because Diamond Dallas Page was giving the diamond [hand signal], right? And everybody would go like that [hands raised] with it.”
“He goes, ‘Can you come up with a different signal that everybody else can do?’ I looked him dead in the eyes and said, ‘No.’ And I kept flying the middle fingers and we kept climbing up, we started whipping their [WCW’s] a** in the ratings, and we had a hell of a crew, and one thing led to another. It’s nice to see a picture of you and Buddy Rogers. He truly was one of the great ones.”
