In the early 2010s, a number of female roster members with less caliber in wrestling made a name for themselves in WWE and Summer Rae was one of them. Back then, the WWE Divas division was in full force with a butterfly-shaped title representing them which didn’t necessarily need them in wrestling capacity in the first place. This also gave birth to the reality TV series called Total Divas where some of the names showcased their personal lives.
As one of the mainstays of the then WWE Divas division, Summer Rae was one of them who featured on the reality show on the E Network. Debuting as Fandango’s valet, her non-wrestling acts started to become popular among the WWE Universe and the company wanted to utilize her fame on the show.

It’s needless to say that WWE was least interested to see what Summer Rae was doing inside the squared circle but she did came up with her own offerings in that capacity before picking up a fatal injury. There were rumors doing the rounds that the former blonde girl was supposed to win the WWE Divas Title at WrestleMania 30 from AJ Lee.

The former WWE Superstar indirectly debunked the rumors while doing a recent virtual signing for the Golden Ring Collectibles by simply mentioning that she doubts that she was even there in the concerned Divas Title match,
“What match was I even in?”
Summer Rae indeed challenged AJ Lee for the title at WrestleMania 30 in a 12-women Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational match where multiple superstars from the roster ended up fighting each other in the title match. Eventually, Lee ended up winning and retaining her title but the night after, she lost the belt to the debuting Paige in a famous moment of Raw’s history.

Summer Rae was supposed to do a big spot at Wrestlemania 30
As you can tell that Summer Rae’s recollection around the match isn’t completely accurate. Besides, she also noted that Saraya fka Paige was in that match which is also false. But during the conversation, she revealed of a big spot that she had turned down,
“I did have a really big spot, and they were trying to go home, so I took it out. And then Saraya hit her big spot afterwards and then everyone hit their big spots. I do regret [not doing] that, I should’ve just done it. I was really scared of it, and I pushed it in practice and Lita was helping me. And then I never did it. It was something off the top rope. Someone had someone up in a suplex, and I was going to crossbody the person down.”
Overview of Summer Rae’s WWE career
Before signing with the WWE 2011, Summer Rae enjoyed a career in the Lingerie Football League. During her NXT days, she found success as part of the BFFs with Sasha Banks before being called up to the main roster as the dancing partner of Fandango. Later, she was seen as a romantic interest for the likes of Rusev (AEW’s Miro), Dolph Ziggler, Damian Sandow, and Tyler Breeze. In 2016, she stopped wrestling forever due to an admitted neck injury.
