SummerSlam 2023 will take over the weekend for pro-wrestling fans when it emanates from Detroit’s Ford Field on August 5th, 2023. The show has just got bigger with multiple announcements of new matches and a battle royal. Also, a few matches have been teased, or even booked only to be taken off the card.
One such encounter that has been building on Raw is a Women’s World Championship match between Ripley and her former best friend, Raquel Rodriguez, on the road to SummerSlam 2023. This week on Raw, WWE booked Mami to get into a brawl with her challenger which led to Rodriguez’s storyline knee injury and thus the anticipated match had to be scrapped from the PLE.
After this, it was confirmed that WWE has canceled Ripley vs. Rodriguez as well as Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus for SummerSlam 2023. Since the confirmation, the IWC was seen discussing WWE’s mistreatment of their women’s roster in recent times.

Rhea Ripley noticed fan discussions about her match’s cancellation
“Rhea has every right to be upset so does becky so does trish,” a fan wrote while another one tweeted a video of Ripley sarcastically clapping and captioned the post with the following statement, “me at wwe when they give logan paul a match but not rhea WHO IS ONE OF YOUR WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS ?”
Ripley liked both of these tweets, seemingly indicating that she didn’t like being left off the SummerSlam 2023 match card. Later, WWE also promoted Ripley by streaming on TikTok for a look at her “SummerSlam glam” routine with makeup artist Laura Lomonaco. The reigning women’s world champion used this as an opportunity to take a shot at the company for snubbing her from the event,
