ToggleRoman Reigns has reached a stage in his career where he doesn’t have much fresh feuds left in the WWE. With his untouchable status intact on TV, it’s safe to say that come of mainstream stars like Logan Paul may step up to him to set up some mega matches at bigger WWE premium live events like Wrestlemania, Summerslam, or WWE’s Saudi Shows.
With the WWE-UFC merger deal, it’s also realistic to imagine that at least a couple of matches could be in-store for Roman Reigns against MMA competitors. Speaking of this notion leads us to the much-anticipated matchup between him and Conor McGregor which is under speculation for the past several years. Now it’s been re-fueled after an exchange on Twitter.

After the WWE-UFC merger was announced, Conor McGregor posted an edited photo of him holding both the WWE Championship and the UFC Championship. In the caption of the tweet, he also used a hashtag to say that it’s inevitable that would end up winning the WWE Championship, someday.
This led to Paul Heyman tweeting the following, “Conor McGregor is a Roman Reigns wannabe!!!”
McGregor replied saying, “Careful Grampa. I’ll show up and break your jaw in 3 places.”

Later, during an interview with BT Sport, this is what the Special Counsel to The Tribal Chief had to offer,
“I’m not a grandfather, but I appreciate the fact that I’m old enough to be one, number one, and I’m still thriving on top.”
“He, as a Roman Reigns wannabe, did the Paul Heyman style, you know, title on each shoulder, and, you know, gave a shout out to himself, of course he did. You know, the ultimate self promoter in Conor McGregor, you know, standing 9-feet-tall and weighing 155 pounds and 5-foot-4.”
Roman Reigns-Conor McGregor saga goes way back
The storyline continues as now McGregor has again teased a match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2023. He tweeted the following statement and later deleted it,
“SummerSlam I’ll pull in on the yacht. Roman and Paul out the bus.”
Seven years ago in 2016, McGregor took a shot at the entire WWE roster to promote his rematch against Nate Diaz. After this, Roman Reigns tweeted the following, “You’re the size of my leg, shut up.”
Later during an interview, Roman Reigns praised Conor as a fighter, but he also challenged him to show up in the WWE locker room so that the fight can be arranged. There’s no proper update on whether WWE creative is indeed thinking about this match to go down at Summerslam 2023 from the Detroit Ford Field on August 5th in Detroit, Michigan.
