Summerslam 2023 is expected to be a one-of-a-kind experience for the WWE Universe as the event is emanating from a stadium for the third year in a row. Detroit’s Ford Field is being lit up for the summer spectacle and the match card has also come together in a big way. Initially, there were eight matches to be planned for the big show but the latest addition did surprise a lot of fans and it also had to shift a lot of plans around.

The Slim Jim battle royal is the latest edition to the SummerSlam 2023 card which will include LA Knight, Chad Gable, Otis, Shinsuke Nakamura, and others to be announced. It will be similar to the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble which will bring in a tone of money for the company.

Slim Jim Summerslam Battle Royal to produce a lot of money for WWE

A tenured member of the WWE creative team informed Ringside News that the Slim Jim battle royal is “worth lot of money to the company” and this is the reason that they had to make sure that this match at Summerslam 2023 got enough time on the card to make up the sponsor’s money. RSN previously informed how WWE made seven figures via a Zombie Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash in 2021 as a tie-in with the Army of the Dead film.

In addition, Fightful Select reports that the reason why WWE scrapped Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus from SummerSlam 2023 is that the company would be forced to give it less time at the event. It’s evident that they were always aware of the Slim Jim Battle Royal to be added to the card but then the buildup for the match started, very late. The final members of the match should be announced during this week’s Smackdown.
