Summerslam 2023 is strongly being touted as the biggest party of the summer which is set for tomorrow morning on Indian TV time. While the WWE Universe is all excited about the event, the overall feeling is not that thrilling especially when it comes to the women’s division. Two top matches have been scrapped off the PLE and the top superstars to be involved in it weren’t happy about it.

One match that many fans were expecting was Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus was surprisingly removed from Summerslam 2023 while Rhea Ripley doesn’t have a match for her Women’s World Title. A challenger is indeed waiting for her which could eventually set up an impromptu showdown.

WWE Official Adam Pearce informed the challenger Raquel Rodriguez during WWE Raw, this week that he will get her a match against Rhea Ripley for the title after she gets medically cleared. Raquel was injured by Ripley on Raw and she wasn’t just ready to get into the card. In an update, she could be told to go in the very last minute.

Summerslam 2023: Rhea Ripley might get an impromptu title defense

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Raquel Rodriguez’s match against Rhea Ripley could still be added to the SummerSlam 2023 card. Earlier, this match could have been removed for time constraints but who knows if the ongoing fan backlash forces it to get inserted into the big event,

“They could clear her and add it on the day of the show, but I will say that there is a time constraint. I was told that was part of the reason why some of these matches that were originally part of the show are off is because they have a time limit on the show, which I’m gonna guess is 3 1/2 to 4 hours.”
