Last night’s Smackdown was an average show with some good and bad moments. The main event match between Solo Sikoa and Sheamus was pretty good. The return of Liv Morgan was also pretty well booked. The rest of the show remained mostly forgettable because of boring booking.
It is reported by various media sources like WRKD Wrestling and Sean Ross Sapp that Vince McMahon’s hands have now reached the blue brand of WWE. He made a lot changes this week which raised frustration among the wrestlers. The show looked like a typical Vince McMahon show with the last match being an exception.
Surprising Shifts: WWE Stars Left Frustrated By Vince McMahon’s Surprising SmackDown Alterations
“Plans for #SmackDown have changed throughout the day, leaving many frustrated, with matches announced last week potentially on the chopping block. One change is that LA Knight will now face Rey Mysterio in a singles match, as opposed to a triple threat with Escobar.” Fightful Select wrote.
LA Knight vs. Rey Mysterio was originally a Vince McMahon plan according to various media sources and it was replaced with some triple threat match that was planned earlier. However, we do not see anything wrong with this booking. LA Knight needed a big win before Money in the Bank and a win over Rey Mysterio was huge.
Vince McMahon Made A Lot Of Changes On Smackdown Last Night
It was reported previously that McMahon made several changes on the recent episodes on Monday Night RAW, in fact, he changed the whole 30 minutes of the show of this previous episode of RAW, including scrapping Seth Rollins’ open challenge and Tommaso Ciampa return plan was also changed.
Clearly, Vince McMahon is slowly taking over WWE Creative once again. Triple H became the Head of Creative last year and he made some big changes that made the fans pretty much happy. Of course he had some flaws but the TV ratings and viewership increased under the reign of Triple H.
The Cerebral Assassin is still the Chief Content Officer of WWE but clearly, he is losing the power. As McMahon is taking over once again, would we have to watch the same old boring shows that he used to produce? We can definitely see some improvement but surely we would never go back to the level of excitement of the Attitude Era or the Ruthless Aggression Era.
