With the WarGames concept tagged into it, WWE Universe has high hopes around Survivor Series 2023 which is going to be the final WWE premium live event of the year. However, rumors are also there that WarGames may not return to the PLE, this year. We now have an update on WWE’s possible plans for the upcoming event.

WWE made Survivor Series a brand war-themed Premium Live Event after the brand extension draft was brought back by the company in 2016. That concept was eventually vanquished last year after Triple H took over the WWE creative. He was the one to plane the first ever Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event, which was headlined by The Bloodline and Team Brawling Brutes in a WarGames match.

As for Survivor Series 2023, WWE announced last month that the show will take place on Saturday, November 25th at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. However, unlike last year, WWE is currently advertising the event as only “Survivor Series” only and not “Survivor Series: WarGames.”

Survivor Series 2023: Confusions persist over WarGames return

That being said, it’s not confirmed yet whether the WarGames themed Survivor Series 2023 will be happening or not. Speaking of WarGames, these were the two matches that headlined last year’s PLE,

– Team Belair (Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim, and Becky Lynch) defeated Team Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley)

– The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn) defeated Team Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens)

Also, a fan questioned the Wrestling Observer on social media if WWE will have WarGames matches at Survivor Series 2023. In return, the source noted that they don’t have any confirmations on the same. However, WWE talent is still going with the belief that WarGames will indeed be a part of the final PPV event of the year.
