ToggleSurvivor Series 2023 is touted to be the last premium live event in WWE’s schedule. WWE has recently canceled the trend of hosting a pay-per-view event in the last month of the year that’s in December and that trend is likely to be retained, this year, too. However, the concept of the final WWE Network Specials could after all go through a change, unlike the WarGames gimmick from last year.
According to the insider source BWE, WWE might be bringing back the Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT brand war theme at Survivor Series 2023. This theme has previously been seen only once on WWE TV, that’s in 2019. Back in that year, three brands participated on the show as Triple H was trying to push NXT as a legitimate 3rd brand of WWE. Eventually, NXT also reigned supreme over the main roster brands.

Survivor Series 2023: Original brand split theme to return in November?
WWE CEO Nick Khan is currently trying to bring the same feel to the NXT brand and that’s why some of the top main roster superstars are appearing on Tuesday nights. Now, they’re expected to feature in a direct battle with Raw and SmackDown at Survivor Series 2023. The concept will be that NXT can go toe-to-toe with the mainstay superstars.
WWE Smackdown: Unified Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned on June 23 Episode
Starting in 2016, the brand extension was brought back via a split between Raw and SmackDown. Since 2022, Survivor Series used to be hosted as a brand vs brand warfare between these two brands. Then last year, Triple H changed the concept and introduced Survivor Series: WarGames for the first time in the main roster scene. That trend is likely to change through Survivor Series 2023.
WWE is seemingly pretty keen on emphasizing the NXT brand and upping its level. Efforts are being noticed as they could be seen more in a war against Raw and SmackDown. While speaking at the J.P. Morgan 51st Annual Global Technology, Media, and Communications Conference in Boston, WWE CEO Nick Khan talked about the potential of the brand to become a standalone one.
