Tay Melo had come to the United States far away from Brazil with the pledge of learning more from the professional wrestling circuit. However, WWE made her literally sit out of action for multiple years during her contract tenure to leave a bitter taste. Then she got to enter the All Elite Wrestling to find far more success in her professional life as well as in her personal life.

In fact, Tay Melo entering a relationship and then getting married to Sammy Guevara garnered more attention than her in-ring career. But it’s safe to say that she did elevate her skills as a performer.

Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale took on Anna Jay and Tay Melo in a brutal street fight in recent months that established the latter as a hardcore performer. Bringing lots of blood on TV did bring out the gutsy side of the former WWE performer. Now, it’s been revealed that going into the big match, she was dealing with a lot of pain.

While speaking to Elite POV, Tay Melo said that she was in no condition to compete in a hardcore match as she was dealing with a back protrusion for a number of years. Then the pain in her body was just amped up just before her street fight, forcing her to be in a wheelchair in the airport just a day before the hardcore match that was going to drain out a lot from her body.

“I have a protrusion on my back, so it’s something that I’ve been dealing with for more than 10 years by now. I know how to go about it. Before the match, I started feeling it a little bit, and the doctors in AEW, they’re super good,” Tay Conti revealed.

“I told them, they helped me see if it was okay to do it. They asked me, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna do it. Let’s go.’ I’ll never say no, let me tell you, unless I’m really dying. I was like, I’m in pain, I knew I was in pain. The day before, let me tell you, I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t walk. At the airport, the walk was so long, we had to get a wheelchair for me because I was not able to walk for too long. It was really bad.” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)
