Following the release, Taya Valkyrie took the least time to make her presence felt in the indie scene. She has returned to AAA and is now back in the Reina de Reinas Championship scene. Taya Valkyrie had seen major success outside the WWE
For those who don’t know, Taya Valkyrie has been a mainstay name in the history of AAA. This was her first appearance in AAA since December of 2019, where she took part in a Lumberjack match at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event. She is one of the most successful female wrestlers in the history of the company who is helmed of holding the Reina de Reinas Championship three times.
Apart from her run with the AAA brand based in Mexico, Taya Valkyrie is known for her runs in Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling, where she had become a former Impact Knockout’s Champion. Also, under the name of Frankie Monet, she wrestled in WWE, which she joined early in 2021.
As a part of the WWE’s NXT brand, her biggest accomplishment was to challenge for the then NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez which ended in a losing effort. Following her release in early November, her husband John Morrison, a former champion in AAA was also released from WWE a few weeks later.
As of now, it appears that Taya Valkyrie vs. Deonna Purrazzo for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship is in the making that would serve as a rematch of Taya’s last match in Impact, where she came up short against Purrazzo for the Impact Knockout’s Championship.
