The Rock has proved once again that he is the biggest star that Hollywood has to offer. He teamed up with fellow superstars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds for the recently-released “Red Notice” and that film broke streaming records for Netflix. The previous score for the most-viewed flick that’s just over 282 million set by the Sandra Bullock film “Birdbox” was shattered.

Now, it appears that Netflix has plans for two more Red Notice films starring ex WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The online streaming giant is currently in the early phase of putting together a back-to-back shoot of two Red Notice sequels, according to a report by The Deadline. The idea is to begin production in early 2023, depending on deals and the schedules of the three prime stars of the movie.

Writer-Director Rawson Marshall Thurber is in-charge of the scripts for the sequels. Netflix sources also confirmed that the plan is to bring back The Rock, Gadot, and Reynolds, but more characters are likely to be added to the upcoming installments to fully bring heist-film vibes to the movie, much similar to the Ocean’s Eleven franchise.

The first one of the upcoming comedy heist film genre premiered on Netflix back on November 12, after a limited theatrical release on November 5. As noted above, it went to become the most-watched movie within 28 days of release on the online platform. Plus, it also was the most-watched film on Netflix in its debut weekend.

Promotions of Red Notice went down in the WWE as the movie was the official sponsor for the 2021 Survivor Series event. WWE did a brief storyline where one of Cleopatra’s golden eggs was presented by The Rock to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. It was then stolen from his office by Austin Theory via which the superstar started receiving a significant push on Raw. WWE also reportedly was granted a “significant payday” for the promotional activity.
