Roman Reigns has been experiencing the biggest success of his career in his ongoing stint as the undisputed champion in the WWE. Since his return to WWE a few years ago, he has enjoyed the longest tenure as the reigning world champion. Besides, he also unified the two top world titles of the WWE to enter a league of his own.
For over 900 days, Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion who’s headlining the show of shows on a regular basis. He’s the poster figure on the road to WrestleMania 39. Even after the big April PLE, WWE reportedly has plans to visit Saudi Arabia in May with him possibly featuring in the main event. However, it appears WWE is yet to nail down plans for the Saudi show.
WWE Raw: No Plans For Three Top Superstars At Wrestlemania 39 PLE
Roman Reigns not confirmed for next Saudi Arabia show
Earlier, a report suggested that said WWE has been planning for “Roman Reigns main eventing the Saudi Arabia show in May. It’s currently unknown what the PPV will be called, but my source tells me he wouldn’t be surprised if it was ‘WrestleMania: Backlash’ in Saudi Arabia.” However, Ringside News was able to confirm that the company is not thinking beyond Wrestlemania 39, as of this writing.
Wrestlemania 39: Major Gimmick Match Rumored For WWE PLE In April
A tenured member of the WWE creative team confirmed to Ringside News that “there has not been any discussion as to the talent going to Saudi Arabia yet.” With the pay-per-view being named “WrestleMania Backlash,” chances are low that WWE will take the roster to Saudi for the show. It’s also uncertain about who will compete at the event in the first place including Roman Reigns.
No creative decision been made around WWE’s May PLE
As of this writing, there have been “no creative discussion, no discussion with the Saudis as to who will headline, or no forms filled out for visas.” WWE is apparently not “there yet” regarding finalizing the plans at a time when even Wrestlemania 39 is yet to pass by.
Ringside News was the same source that reported in the fall of 2022 that WWE’s next Saudi Arabia event was moved to May. The plan reportedly stays the same, but WWE is yet to make any creative sketches around the matches let alone a separate match around Roman Reigns.
