For almost the past couple of years, Raquel Rodriguez has been a mainstay of the WWE Women’s division. Back on NXT, she used to be a force to be reckoned with under the name of Raquel Gonzalez. Changing her name and quickly squaring off against Ronda Rousey for the Women’s Title indicated her to continue as a destructive force on the main roster which wasn’t the case.
Fans have certainly noticed the zero character development for Raquel Rodriguez who does have tons of potential to become a breakout star. But if truth be told then she’s stuck in the women’s tag title picture, mostly. That being said, the call is here for the WWE to give attention to the Mexican talent so that she doesn’t get wasted.

Zero character development claimed for Raquel Rodriguez
While speaking on a recent episode of Keepin’ It 100, Konann claimed that WWE’s creative team failed to explain Raquel Rodriguez’s gimmick. In fact, he doubted that the company has ever tried to give her a proper character in the first place unlike her tag team partner, Liv Morgan,
“Raquel’s been there a while with almost zero character development. I’ve always said it, what’s her gimmick? Okay, she’s a big powerful girl but what’s her gimmick? I don’t understand nothing about her. They haven’t done a real good job explaining her. At least Liv they tried to explain that she’s crazy and she’s, you know, like a badass, which I don’t buy either.”
Raquel Rodriguez is a multi-time champion across NXT and the main roster
Raquel Rodriguez joined the WWE back in 2016 by starting on the NXT brand. Initially, playing the bodyguard for Dakota Kai, she went on to become the NXT Women’s Champion and then the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion before finally getting the main roster call on Smackdown shortly after Wrestlemania 38.
A few months later, Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Aliyah which was her first title win on the main roster. Afterward, she won the same title, twice to become a three-time tag champ in the WWE. On the last two occasions, Liv Morgan has been her tag partner.
At Money in the Bank on July 1, the latest title win for the duo occurred. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated the super team of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler at the PLE to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships for the second time as a pair. The win came after Rousey was betrayed by Baszler in between the match.
