Kane cashes in on Rey Mysterio at Money in the Bank 2010
The concept of an instant Money in the Bank cash-in on a champion on the same night of the contract win was innovated by Kane who won the ladder match at the first-ever dedicated PPV under this MITB gimmick. During the July 2010 event, The Big Red Monster secured a surprising win and he was rather impatient in exercising the championship match contract.
The top babyface from Smackdown, Rey Mysterio had just successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Jack Swagger after which the pyros exploded on the ramp to bring out Kane who immediately instructed the match referee to ring the match bell. One chokeslam-tombstone piledriver combo later, Kane stood as the World Heavyweight Champion who went on to rule the roost on Smackdown for almost the rest of 2010.
