CM Punk vs. John Cena (Summerslam 2011)
2011’s summer can be termed as the “Summer of Punk”. CM Punk headed towards Summerslam to claim the spot of the undisputed champion with the infamous pipe-bomb incident and an epic match at the Money in the Bank PPV. It was an edge of the seat encounter between him and John Cena after which he emerged victorious with a controversial decision from the guest referee, Triple H. Wait, if that was not enough there were more twists coming after the match. A spectator Kevin Nash attacked Punk out of nowhere after the match which paved the way for the Money in the Bank briefcase holder, Alberto Del Rio to cash it in big time and becoming the WWE champion.
