During the December 30 episode of WWE SmackDown, Ronda Rousey defeated Raquel Rodriguez to successfully defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship. Moments after that match, Charlotte Flair returned to WWE programming after a gap of eight months for the first time since WrestleMania Backlash to challenge the champion.
Despite “feeling spicy” enough to compete in a second title match, a weary Rousey ultimately fell short to hand over Charlotte Flair her 8th WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship and the overall 14th Women’s World Championship. Thereafter, she thwarted a couple of challenges issued by Sonya Deville but there are quite a few targets left on the blue brand for her.

Over on social media, Liv Morgan has now hinted that she is also interested in receiving a shot at the WWE Smackdown Women’s Title that she previously held, last year. Without any comment, she simply posted a photograph from a recent live event to tease her intentions about going after the title, yet again.

Liv Morgan targeting WWE Smackdown Women’s Title
Flair and Morgan were in a triple threat match against each other alongside Deville in Columbus, Georgia live event, this weekend. Flair won the match to retain her WWE Smackdown Women’s Title. Prior to the match, Morgan was captured staring closely at Flair posing with the title. She has shared this pose on her Twitter profile to imply the fact that she intends to capture the title again.
This matchup could have been a big match pitched for Wrestlemania 39 from the WWE Smackdown Women’s division. But Flair already has her WWE WrestleMania 39 opponent set, as Rhea Ripley chose her to be her opponent after winning the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match at the latest WWE premium live event held on January 28. The current assumption is that Flair will continue holding the belt until the Show of Shows to keep the title match lineup intact.
As for Liv Morgan, she lasted for more than one hour in the Rumble match, similar to the winner, Rhea Ripley. It was back at the Extreme Rules PLE in October that she put the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match. On that night, Rousey beat her to take away the title from her.
