What Transpired After WWE Smackdown Went-Off The Air: July 18th, 2017 1

Smackdown Live witnessed a dream tag team forming up on the main event of the show. It was AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura’s alliance to lock horns against Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens. Unfortunately, the team came up short as the heel team picked up the win via KO’s pop-up power bomb. But, the audience was pleased to get another great dark match where two more legends teamed up.

Once the camera stopped rolling at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, the company arranged a huge doubles action for the fans in attendance. This is a tradition of the WWE where they try to send the fans home on a happy note with some entertaining actions.

So, once the 205 Live ended, John Cena and Randy Orton teamed up to take on their respective Battleground opponents i.e. Rusev and Jinder Mahal. Quite expectedly, it was an interesting affair, throughout. In the end, the two babyfaces stood tall.

Orton connected with his pendant RKO move to the WWE Champion to take him out of the equation. Cena then connected with the Attitude Adjustment on Rusev to get the pinfall and win the match. They celebrated to close the show.

Also, we have learned following last night’s Smackdown that there will be a pre-show match for the Battleground PPV where Aiden English will take on Tye Dillinger. Both the superstars are not quite involved in the storyline and hence they have to stay away from the main show. The six matches for the PPV have already been declared.

The fallout show from Smackdown Live witnessed The Usos bragging about their singles victory on the show. Jimmy Uso was able to pin one-third of the contenders via roll-up. So, they went to express their confidence heading into Sunday’s PPV where they are claiming themselves as the favourites.

Plus, there was another interview with Mike and Maria Kanellis. They were quite happy after getting the first victory in a match in the WWE. Till now, they are not yet scheduled for a match at Battleground. But, there might be a rematch made between Mike and Sami on the night, itself. It is to be noted that the Talking Smack show was not hosted, last night.
