WWE Tribute to the Troops 2022 edition was recently taped following an episode of Smackdown. Featuring several superstars from the blue brand, it’s been made official that the show will ultimately be airing on TV almost two weeks from now. Thus, WWE Superstars will have the opportunity to perform in front of military personnel who are fighting for the country.
As per updates from WWE, Tribute to the Troops 2022 would take place on December 17 at 2:30 pm ET and will air on FOX. The show is expected to come up with a stacked card that features top Smackdown Superstars like Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Ronda Rousey, Sheamus, Imperium, and more.
WWE has issued the following statement regarding Tribute to the Troops 2022,
“In what is considered WWE’s most patriotic and heartwarming show of the year, the company began ‘Tribute To The Troops’ to honor our servicemen and women and their families and thank them for their continued sacrifice to our country.” (courtesy Fox News)

This is an annual event held by the WWE in honor of the US military service members. The first Tribute to the Troops event was held in 2003 at Camp Victory in Baghdad and this year marks the 20th edition of the show. As you can see, WWE has never skipped hosting the patriotic show but not every year, it’s been a televised show.

To be exact, WWE Tribute to The Troops 2022 was taped three weeks ago on a Friday night at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, following the conclusion of the Veteran’s Day edition of SmackDown on FOX. PWMania presented the spoilers from the tapings which go as follows,
* Braun Strowman defeated LA Knight
* SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated Emma and Tamina Snuka
* Sheamus, Ricochet and Drew McIntyre defeated Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci, Ludwig Kaiser and WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER
Apart from Tribute to the Troops 2022, According to Wrestlevotes, WWE is planning to host another special show in India in January. While not much details have been provided regarding the show, this could be of a similar format to last year’s Superstar Spectacle that aired on India’s Republic Day, January 26.
