Trish Stratus and Lita are often helmed as two of the original pioneers of the WWE Women’s division as well as on the professional wrestling circuit to have changed the game for their genre. These two proved their wrestling skills at a time when people weren’t used to seeing the same from the female roster. For all the right reasons, they have been credited for paving the way for the next generation.

In the process, both Trish Stratus and Lita accomplished a lot of fame and success during their tenure that almost carried on side by side. Now that the former of them has turned heel, it appears that she doesn’t value the latter’s credentials, at all in comparison to what she had done in her career.

Trish Stratus took all credits of changing women’s wrestling

While speaking with Corey Graves on After the Bell, Trish Stratus took a shot at her bestie Lita’s contributions to pro wrestling. She claimed that Lita always had a broken neck most of the time in her career while she was busy in making and breaking records.

“Was it me and Lita? I mean was it, or was it me? I’d want to look back specifically, but I’m pretty sure she had a broken neck most of the time I was there breaking records, doing the rounds, press conferences, being on the cons, and the loop, so to speak,” Trish Stratus continued.

“I have to clearly deliver a message, and that was the best way (to do it). We’ve made it a part of the world of wrestling. We’ve changed the preconceived notion of what a female can do in the ring to the point where now you have little girls going ‘When I grow up, I want to be a wrestler’. Like, we’ve created a vocation, And I say we, but I mean mostly me.”

Trish Stratus turned heel on Becky Lynch after WrestleMania 39

As seen on the April 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus (proxying for Lita) defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Eventually, Morgan got the pinfall win over her childhood idol Stratus, in order to become the new champion. Soon after the match, Trish Stratus attacked Becky Lynch to start a new program that should culminate in a match at SummerSlam.

Speaking in the interview, the spreader of Stratusfaction noted about not having any ‘trail-blazers’ from their time and that there was no path for women to be taken seriously. She grew up as a wrestling fan, but unlike many others, she didn’t see herself as a future WWE Superstar. After all, she was the only female trainer in the training facility in her home country of Canada.

Also, during the conversation, Trish Stratus explained how there was a lack of interest in the wrestling industry for women’s talents and this was the reason that she didn’t envision being a WWE Superstar one day. It’s a fact that reaching the top of the mountain in the world of professional wrestling from being a fitness model was tough but she experienced that journey to set an example for the up-and-rising superstars.
