If reports are to go by then Becky Lynch will eventually be colliding with her childhood idol Trish Stratus in a dream match at Summerslam. Heading into the match, the latter has decided to amp things up by delivering some strong words. Not only was she featured in a heel promo but also appeared in a follow-up interview.

During a conversation with Raw commentator Corey Graves on WWE’s After The Bell Podcast, Trish Stratus talked about the current situation of the women’s roster. The host specifically asked her about possibly going after the RAW or SmackDown Women’s Championship. In response, the seven-time women’s champion discussed the notion of adding more titles to her achievements.

“I’m loving watching the development,” Trish Stratus said, “because for me, it was about being this valet, but then having a character, developing, and getting to know her as a character, and then watching her in her role, and I’ve seen this with Rhea Ripley. It’s been wonderful to watch. She’s pretty special and I’m so happy to see where she’s at.
Bianca, she’s someone special. She’s so athletic. I feel like she’s someone that is born to do what she does. It’s so natural and so effortless. I love seeing her. She’s a great champion. With Trish Stratus coming out of retirement, chances of seeing more such dream matches have become real, especially with the likes of Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair enjoying their heydays in careers. Coming off the NXT roster, both these two superstars walked out of WrestleMania 37 with their first singles title wins and then went on to become multi-time champions.
As for Trish Stratus, she came out of retirement again at WrestleMania 39 as she teamed with Becky Lynch and Lita to defeat Damage CTRL in a six-woman tag team match. The last time, she held the women’s title in the WWE was in 2006 and hence it’s been 17 years since her last championship win. However, she defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the April 19 episode of Raw alongside Lynch in Lita’s place and came up short.
