Being a trailblazer, Trish Stratus is one of the key reasons behind the kick-off of Women’s Evolution in the WWE in the last decade irrespective of the fact whether she was an active part of the process or not. Even when the female superstars had the least to offer, she alongside her bestie Lita revolutionized the business with their unique skill sets in the ring.
The then Diva of the Decade took retirement several years ago but she made a comeback whenever WWE had something significant reserved for her including a match at WrestleMania 39 after a four-year-long hiatus. In her late 40s, it was not an easy task to lace up the boots again but she managed to keep her fitness game on point, heading into the Show of Shows.
Trish Stratus Not Ruling Out More Competition After WWE Wrestlemania 39
The original WWE run of Trish Stratus started in 2001 and lasted until 2006. In 2005, she had a feud with Mickie James that was one of the pivotal storylines to showcase the WWE women’s division. The two created some angles which earned praise from fans as well as critics. Plans between these two apparently went through some changes as it was supposed to include another WWE Hall of Famer.

Trish Stratus almost got her own sidekick on Raw back in 2005
While speaking to SHAK Wrestling, Trish Stratus reflected on the plans for Beth Phoenix who was planned to become a raw powerhouse figure during that feud,
“Yeah, she was going to be the enforcer of the group.
“It’s funny because they wanted her to be like a strong, silent type, which is cool and powerful. When we looked at how she ended up coming back, it was much better.”
Beth Phoenix was originally set to debut on the WWE main roster as Trish Stratus’ sidekick, but she was dealing with a jawline fracture at that time which forced her to take time off for recovery and then go back to training in OVW, the company’s developmental territory at the time. It was also noted in the conversation that Phoenix needed to be comforted as she was understandably upset about the injury.
Trish Stratus took upon the duty and reminded her that everything happens for a reason. Despite this initial setback, Phoenix made a successful debut on WWE Raw in 2007 to become a pioneer on her own, having multiple championship wins by her name. It was rather a blessing as mentioned in the conversation,
“I think she didn’t need to be in our thing and it just worked. It would’ve been a fun trio for sure, and especially when the storyline turned, it would’ve been interesting to see how it played out between us.
“But, yeah, I think everything played out the way it should’ve when I look back at everything.”
